adjusting position of brake (and ideally clutch) pedals

Featured Replies

Hello,

New poster here, hi.

We recently aquired a Fiesta 2016.  Effectively my first Ford ever.

V. happy with it, but struggling to find a good sitting position.

i've worked out it some of this is down to the pedals.

The accelerator is 'good' i.e. is about right for my foot / leg.

But the brake and clutch are about an inch / inch and a half nearer to me.

Is the brake adjustable for notmal position on a Fiesta 2016?  Ideally the clutch also.

Cheers!

Not adjustable I believe.  I don’t ever recall seeing cars where you could adjust the pedals although on cars with a cable clutch there was some scope by adjusting the cable to have extra slack kind of.  Fiesta does not have cable clutch

Maybe it would help to pump the seat height adjuster downwards and back, by pushing the handle on the outside of the seat downwards several times until you are far enough away. (if you have that adjuster of course)

ah right, thanks all,

Maybe I'll add something to the accelarator pedal to bring that closer to  'in line'

Cheers.

You could throw back to the 1970's and try platform shoes 🤣

The Mk2 Focus could have been factory fitted with optional electronic pedal adjustment.

Very rare option, I've never seen one on the flesh with it fitted!  Don't think it was ever an option on Fiesta's though.

If google 'Ford Fiesta ST Pedal Spacer' there was one you could buy for the ST or make yourself if you have a 3D printer.  I have no idea if it fits other models but maybe someone here knows if pedals are different from the ST?  Probably not as Ford would want to save money in the development/production.  Few youtube videos on this and installs too.  What this does is raise the accelerator pedal to be in line with the brake pedal, for if you wanted to do heel and toe acceleration/braking at the same time.
