Well 40mins of updating and hay presto, version 3.4 SYNC and F11 maps from Cyan Labs, less hassle than from the Fore site

Once you insert the USB pen drive in to your car do not remove it, the Ford prompts of switch of and cycle the ignition cause a lot of issues, just ignore them. You do not have to do the update all in one go, so long as you do not remove the USB pen drive the install will continue each time you start the car. When the update is truly finished you will get a message on the Sync3 screen telling you there has been an update. Check that the map version has increased (now F11).

Already done this as I gave up with the Ford site
