Abs trouble

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem I'm having.

The abs and traction control lights are on so I got it scanned and it came up with the abs sensor at fault. Changed the sensor and it was all good for around 50 miles and now it's come back on but it also puts my car into limp mode.

Thanks

Well firstly I'd download FORScan and check for any DTC's.

Just because you changed one ABS sensor doesn't mean that one of the other 3 hasn't failed. Did you check the connector and all the wiring of the sensor you replaced ? there is often corrosion or breaks in the wires near the ABS sensor.

Thanks for the reply. I change both the front sensors but when I got the codes read it still said front right sensor. I tried to follow the wire but can't see where it goes in the engine bay after leaving the wheel arch. I didn't know if it could be a bearing problem?

Yes a wheel bearing could well cause ABS faults if you are using a generic code reader the reported faults can be unreliable.
