Ford Fiesta Zetec 2008, seatbelt socket stuck under bench

Featured Replies

Hi guys, hope you can help!

Bought a 2008 zetec in great condition as a second car the other day, I’ve gone to install a car seat and noticed one of the sockets for the seatbelts must be stuck under the rear bench.

I can’t for the life of me figure out a way to get to it can anyone help?

Does the actual seat lift as well as the backs of the seats folding down?

Thank you in advance.

lee

If this is a 2002-08 Fiesta, the the seat cushion should lift from the rear to access the seat belt mountings.

If it is an '08 or later, then some one should be along shortly !

I have mk7.5 2015.  Seat base is not hinged like on mk6.5 , on mine it clips in. You have to try to get your fingers underneath and pull it upwards.  I can’t remember if that has to be done along front edge or rear edge. I think it’s front. It’s not designed to be moved when you fold the seat backs down

Sorry for the large text there, I see two clips either side that look like they lock in the seats but they are not moving when I pull against it. Would something release them or is it brute force to pull through them….?

thank you!

I've just downloaded the relevant owner's guide from the Ford website, and the only reference I can find to the rear seat states "Do not remove the rear seat cushion."

So no help there. I'd get a s/h Haynes off a well known on line auction site....

Give the seat cushion a good yank

Would that be a Sioux, Cree, Seminole, Mohican, Cherokee, Shoshone, etc ?

Donald or Joe ?

Halle Berry or Michelle Obama ?

Just give it a hard tug (based of your previous comment, I expect this to be taken out of context)

Well I suppose that you could use the back seat for that 🤣

Assuming this is mk6.5 which went from about 2005 to 2008.  I had a mk6.5 2007.  The seat lifted up by putting your hand down the back of the base and pulling up. It has two hinges along the front edge so when you lift the back edge it comes up in an arc to the vertical. Mine was zetec.  Maybe some other spec models saved money by having a fixed base.
