Rattle on Heat Shield

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have an 18 plate Ford Fiesta ST LIne Eco boost. The heat shield rattles when I go over uneven road surfaces, I have checked the heat shields, they all seem to be in tacked. Is this normal for them to continually rattle?

The word you are looking for is "intact". Examine the heat shield closely and you will almost certainly find that a tab has cracked and broken off. You may have to remove them to inspect for damage.

Not normal, no.

A fixing will have broken off or corroded somewhere. Difficult to tell or find without being able to get fully under the car or lift it up on a ramp.

Check the heat shields in front of the engine covering the turbo.
