Mk7 (11) plate - possible to add USB as Aux in

Featured Replies

Hi

New member here, bought a Fiesta Mk7 11 plate as a run around and car for my daughter to learn to drive in. It has a 3.5mm Aux input. I've had a look around the forums but wasn't able to find previous threads, maybe my search was wrong. Is it possible to add a USB input on the Aux channel of the stereo, ideally for music and charging phone. Has anyone in here done this already?

Cheers

Shane

Been using this site for years but I never seem to get much success with search function.   I don’t think you can add usb to aux.  Aux is analogue signal . Usb is digital computer data.   For charging you can put usb charging adaptor in cigarette lighter socket. They were a quid in Poundland a while back,  don’t know how much now.   Best you can do for music is run lead from headphone socket on phone to aux input socket

Hi Isetta,

Thanks for the speedy reply - appreciate that. I figured that's where I might end up 🙂

Better off buying a mini MP3 player with SD card.

Nor me. I use a search engine such as Google and include Ford Owners Club in the search term and usually find what I'm looking for. Same with most other forums, many of which use a similar search function to this site.

As has already been said aux is analogue, however u may find your Bluetooth module has a usb socket (most likely mini B) if so you can get a mini B to female a cable
