New Forscan Result On My Airbag Problem

Featured Replies

Just had a Elm327 delivered today and tried out Forscan for the first time, everything all modules etc resulted in "No Faults" EXCEPT for airbag which seems to be intermittent fault, a Open Circuit. Will this be the module under the centre console or under the seats? Warranty expires in two months time. Forscan result below:

Additional Fault Symptom:
 - Circuit Open

Thanks for looking.

You don't hang about!!

That's a fault on the drivers side seat airbag.  Most likely caused the by the plug under the drivers seat.

If you unplug and re-plug, it might sort itself.  Or the plug pin sockets might be loose and need a bit of a squeeze.

There is a small chance of it being the airbag itself at fault, but not much.  Shouldn't take Ford more than an hour to diagnose and repair if you're letting them fix under warranty.

(PS - Don't mention that you've scanned it, some garages get offended by that!)
