Ford fiesta 1.4 2002 model - speedo and mileage fault

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I should probably first start by saying I know nothing about cars and have never posted on a forum like this before, really looking for some advice.

I've got a 2002 Ford Fiesta, 1.4 petrol model. A few weeks backs I had an EAC fault flash up on the display and my speedo was working intermittently. Mechanic came out and cleaned out some pipes/tubes (no idea what) which removed the EAC fault but the speedo continued to be intermittent.

Lately the speedo however seems to not be working even intermittently and the mileage gauge is now simply dashes. The dash still reads the engine temp, fuel and revs with no error, but the speedo and mileage gauge have seemingly given up.

Just wondered if anyone could help while I wait for a mechanic to get back to me.

Thanks!

if you have got a handbook, i would check the fuses and see if any of them refer to your dash, ask someone who you trust and is ok with cars to look under the bonnet in the fuse box  check fuse number 20 and 33 inside the car
