Aldridge Andy
Hopefully not a stupid question; I’m looking to buy a CTEK comfort connector to hopefully get fitted to my 2021 Fiesta when it has its first dealer visit. CTEK sell a variety of connectors with different sized “ring connectors” to fit to the battery +ve and chassis. Does anyone know what size ring connectors I need, I have a choice from 6.3mm 8.0mm and 10mm?
auldreekie
If its this your looking for https://tinyurl.com/y6khp3yd I got one included with my CTek 5 charger, probably still included.

Yes, I got mine a couple of years back and the connector was included. The i/d of the "rings" is about 6mm (so probably the 6.3 mentioned by Andy). Never used mine anyway, tbh, just the spring clamps. Edit: just giving my car a charge now and checked the comfort connector eyelets for info - mine (the 6.3mm) would easily fit the battery terminals and the nearby earth point I use, so I guess that answers the original question. Aldridge Andy
Many thanks for the feedback guys, I'm pretty sure that my CTEK ( from amazon ) didn't come with a "comfort connector" in the box. I'll order the 6.3mm ones and pop them in the car so I can ask my Ford dealer if they would fit them for me when they have it in for it's convenience check in September. Paulkp
I had to "Google" this - so it is a connector to easily plug a charger to the battery and chassis. I have been using Tamiya connectors for about 30 years, but I have a fuse on mine on the +ve side. Is there no fuse on the "Comfort Connector" ? (Halfords image) I have always thought dangling unfused charger leads under the bonnet could risk a short from the +ve battery charger cable to chassis. Similarly I have uprated the cable from the charger to the connector, as at 12V/9A (approx) the cable resistance is significant, but if you are only using a trickle charger, not necessary. A selection of old chargers, with the blue light one being a home built trickle charger from about 30 years ago, with a home built Voltmeter, ammeter in front. The connector on the Davenset enables a short direct connection to the battery. The Halford's one cost me a quid from their junk basket, and I have used it successfully every winter for years ! Those Kelly's ice cream containers are rugged and very useful, it's just that you have to eat the ice cream before you can use them in the garage !
