ipod classic vs sync 3

Featured Replies

Am I expecting too much for my 2018 Fiesta with a Sync 3 unit to be able to cope with a 25,000 song ipod classic? It takes forever to index, maybe plays a dozen tracks then I have to reset it again. Yes, I know  I can get a 250gb USB drive but I like my ipod. I eventually get all the options to search for albums etc but it is far from reliable. The ipod was discontinued before sync 3 was invented so my expectations aren't too great. No, I don't want to stream with bluetooth or mess about with Android Auto. Any thoughts?

I've found that Sync3 doesn't interface well with my Betamax recorder either and I had high expectations 🤣

Go for the USB option, once it’s indexed any updates or changes are taken care of really quickly.

SanDisk do some decent “compact usb drives” which sit near-flush so ideal if you want to connect to the port near the gearstick.

Purely out of curiosity, do you need 25,000 tracks, do you actually listen to them all? Less data, faster indexing, easier navigation.
