Air conditioning not working.

Featured Replies

MK6.5 Fiesta Zetec 1.6 Tdci. After a frontal accident then subsequent repair, the Ac button lights up when depressed but then goes off by itself.

I went to get the air con regassed but mechanic said the air con button light should remain on even when empty on Ac gas so he refused to regass my air con and said i need to fix this issue first. Any suggestions please.

Does it stay on for a few seconds/minutes or does it go straight off?

Most likely cause is something left unplugged at the front end - fan plug or pressure switch plug would be my first checks.

Could also be the plug in the back of the AC control panel came loose in the impact.  I assume the dash wasn't removed for airbag replacement?
