Wiper blade breaks off

My wiper blades keep snapping off when I turn the car on. They are on auto and the left hand one trys to go first and snaps off. It breaks the clip so im out 20 quid everytime for new wiper and ive had enough now. Anyone else similar ? Im guessing its the motor but any ideas . Im married to my mechanic so its a case of if the cars still driving keep going .

    Do you have the wiper system that has each wiper arm attached at the corners of the screen ?
