My New Fiesta

Featured Replies

Ooo, it's all shiny and lovely.

There are couple of things on the fix list already. It looks like they fitted the new rear window winder without thinking to look across and see what direction the other one was pointing. It's a simple enough job to reposition it properly.

I also need to check the outer rear seat belt lower mountings. The OS belt is twisted at the bottom.

The only real disppointment is that it doesn't have remote central locking. This was an optional extra up to January 2005 and, according to the VIN, my car was built in September 2004. So, I'm afraid that a retrofit appears to be on the cards. Yes, I know that it will be difficult, expensive and probably not cost-effective.

The frst step is to locate the CL module and see which type it is and get the part number. Then all I have to do is get a RCL one, swap them over, program the new remote key into the CL system, and finally program both key transponders into the PATS immobilser. Simple. What can possibly go wrong?

High efficiency headlight bulbs, silvered indicator bulbs and flat front wiper blades up front.

Black indicator repeater light on the side.

My "intelligent" footwell lights, a glove box light, a Ghia interior light with map reading lights and a leather gear lever gaiter on the inside.

And last, but not least, parking sensors and a Zetec tailgate spoiler bringing up the rear.

Well, that little lot should keep me out of mischief for a while. I won't have any money left to spend on getting up to mischief.

Stephen.

PS. Anyone know where to get the "955" 16W wedge/capless bulbs used in the high-level brake light?

Found this on e-bay closest bulb I can find, based on the details above,

16W Wedge Capless
