Flexipipe loose on 2014 Fiesta

Featured Replies

Loose flexipipe on exhaust.  The garage said I need a new catalytic converter but do I? They said they welded it but there was no improvement.  I've seen flexipipes for sale as separate parts so why can't it be replaced?

Which engine do you have?

The original factory fitted exhaust pipe is made all in one piece. The flexi-pipe and the catalytic converter are joined together.

It's not a major problem, the flexi pipe and cat can be removed and the pipe cut to separate the two things. You can then buy an after market flexi-pipe that is sleeved to fit the cat.

check out companies like Euro Car Parts.

The Cat and flexi are one unit by the looks of it, though a separate part from the rest of the exhaust. See Here

You can probably do what Unofix suggested above, I have no experience of doing that though, but the easiest solution would be to replace the Cat (with flexi). You'll have to weigh up the cost of both options, that's even if the garage are willing to cut it, and sleeve in a universal flexi.

Interesting. Good for the future reference as my friend's Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost may need this, though I think the Cat on his is giving up (as suggested by the errors he gets)
