Tyres For 1.6 Tdci Zetec S

Featured Replies

His guys, I have just taken delivery of a new 1.6 TDCI Zetec S and I asked the dealer to upgrade the wheels from the standard 16" alloys to the 17" allows which come on the petrol Zetec S. I have got home and realised the tyres are not a brand I recognise. Can anyone tell me what tyres come standard on this car and what my position is with the dealer, do they have an obligation to put the same make of tyre on as what came standard with the car even though I requested the change in wheels. I just assumed they would at least have put branded tyres on it. Thanks for your help.

Sadly they're only obliged to put on there what was on the invoice. If you've only just taken delivery, perhaps you could ask the sales rep about it? They might be willing to do a deal on an upgrade to keep you sweet - it's in their interest to keep you coming back for servicing etc as they make far more money off you from that than the original sale.

The original fit tyres are Bridgestone Potenza "RE050A" V rated (on mine at least) which cost about £120 each. So what have they put on yours, and what did they charge for them?

Thanks for the advice! I got home and realised they were Sunew tyres, Chinese make from what I gather, cheap rubbish! Going in the morning to see them, not happy!

What brand of tyres have they put on it?

Mine came with Pirelli PZERO Nero's

A quick google shows those tyres selling for £70 for a pair! So the dealer is definitely going to want some cash out of you to upgrade those to a top-end brand (like about £340 :o )...
