Switch 2020 Fiesta headlights to LHD

Featured Replies

I am taking my 2020 Fiesta to France and apparently I can switch the headlights to LHD.  Does anyone know how to do it?

LED or halogen?

With LED you just change the traffic setting to right hand traffic for driving on the right. Not sure about halogen.

Just FYI LHD means left hand drive, where the steering wheel is in the car. For lights abroad, its about the side of the road you are driving on, not the steering wheel position sold in that country.

Thanks for that, they are projector headlights not LED.  Appreciate that LHD refers to the position of the steering wheel but when you are looking for headlights they use the position of the steering wheel as a reference point rather than referring to which side of the road you are driving on.

Do you mean you are moving permanently to France and want to change to LHD headlights? They are whole different clusters afaik, if that's what you mean.

I thought you meant just temporarily setting them for a trip.

Yes, am moving to France and contacted someone who supplies LHD headlights and having sent them photos and part numbers if my current lights they said there should be either a lever or adjustment screw but I can't see one.

There is no lever to change the headlights from RHD to LHD. There are some alignment adjustment screws but they are only intended for minor changes to the beam pattern, they do not change the lights over to the other side.  You will require two complete new headlight assemblies in order to meet the French requirements.

Also remember if your Fiesta is the type that only has one rear fog light and one reverse light you will need to replace them so they are on the correct side for France.

If I was moving to France I would seriously be thinking of selling rhd car in uk and buying lhd car in France. Inconvenience of car park barriers and overtaking. Don’t know if French insurance companies charge more for rhd drive cars. Assume you are arranging French insurer straight away.  I think uk insurance will be invalid even with green card if you become France based. Particularly as brexit has curtailed Freedom of Services rules for uk insurance companies.
