Windscreen moulding retainer repair advice

Hi all!

 

I've been hearing a rattle coming from my N/S front windscreen for a few days now, and we've narrowed it town to the windscreen moulding. More specifically, the moulding retainer is snapped - so the moulding is rattling on the window when I'm driving. I've attached a link to show what I'm talking about for ease.

 

The problem is with PNC<02564, Part code 1709965 (see link).

 

My questions are: 

1. Is this even repairable?

2. Is it something I need to hire a windscreen repair technician for, or is it possible to DIY?

    Bumping this topic up a bit, anyone know what I need to do?

    It clips on and is fiddly to get right. The easiest fix is to remove the wipers, then remove the scuttle, give both a damn good clean then bond it back. It's an issue if you need to replace the screen at any point. HTH

    I'm a coward! If it were my car, I'd drive it to one of the big 'windscreen' workshops and get their advice. They'd be ideally placed to advise/repair to a standard that won't hinder future screen replacements.
