Service information not displaying

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25 manual which I bought in June last year with only 31000 miles. I usually service my cars myself and thought the car must be coming up to a service.

I thought the oil change interval on these were every 12500 miles. It had just been serviced and MOTd when I bought it so left it until now. I've don't about 14500 miles so I know I'm passed the interval on it and I'm changing the oil and filters tomorrow, but I can't understand why the service warning hasn't come up yet.

Is there supposed to be like a spanner light or information on the dash or centre screen?

I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this issue or if anyone would know the cause.

Thanks!

No mention of a Spanner in the handbook, and no mention of a Service Message.

OK, thanks for the reply.

So is it possible that it just doesn't have a service light at all?

I've never owned a car that doesn't have a service reminder! Not that I mind. Less to have to reset. Just surprised that this car doesn't have one.

No, the fiesta doesn’t have one.

I don’t know what year fiesta got the service reminder on dash. My 2007 mk6.5 didn’t have it, my 2015 mk7.5 does have it.

Does it? My 2013 and 2014 didn’t, my 2016 doesn’t.

I think it may be engine dependant on the Mk7.5.  Possibly just the diesels?

Ford like to complicate it even further with the 'Engine Service Now' warning message.  To anyone not familiar with Fords that looks like a service reminder rather than a 'your car's broken' warning.

OK thanks for all the replys. Glad to know it's not just my car! Changing the fluids and filters today so I'll just keep a note of the mileage.

Is 12500 or 10000 reasonable mileage for an oil change on this car? I've read in a lot of different places that Ford recommend 5000 or 6 months. Seems a bit overkill to me. I'm using Castrol Magnatec 5-30. Would have thought it would do more than that before needing a change.

1.25 interval is 12,500 miles or 12 months.

It's one of the least 'needy' Ford engines, unlike the 1.0 EcoBoost or the 16v 1.6 TDCi.

A 1.0 EcoBoost isn't 'needy' it's like a toddler, it's demanding !!
