1.0 EcoBoost boost problems

Featured Replies

Now then, I have a 2015 1.0 ecoboost 125 (67k miles) which has recently been having a few boost issues. To start with I lost all power however found it to be the little valve for the wastegate coming off the vacuum pump that was faulty, I have replaced that then did around 1k miles trouble free then tonight whilst driving up a hill (doing around 50-60mph) in 3rd gear I just lost all power. I haven’t had any warning lights on the dash and after using an OBD reader just to check there are no stored codes or anything. It feels like the turbo is trying to kick in and sometimes does but then it makes some whining noises or sometimes there is just nothing, however there is no little whoosh noise when you blip the throttle like there normally would be when standing. Just here to see if anyone else has had similar problems or any ideas before I investigate further perhaps give some other things to look for. Also when I had issues before we checked the play in the turbo and there was nothing untoward with it although I do see they can be a common problem on these engines cheers Rosco

What fault code reader?  We’re you using forscan software or something generic which is not as specific and not as likely to find the codes

It is Only a cheap handheld code reader but never come across anything over several cars that it wont pickup fault code wise

Generic code readers will not read Ford specific DTC's.

Use FORScan.
