Oil Leak :(

Featured Replies

has anybody else had any oil leaks from the 1.4tdci engine? thought i had fixed the problem when i took the turbo out but it started leaking again.

i have a small leak on the top of the engine. it pools on the block. comes from a plastic pipe. sorry, don't know the exact terminology.

apparantly a little leak like that is nothing serious. this was on an 8000mile mk7 less than a year old so can't be too bad.

yours in the same place?

no my oil leak i think is from under the turbo poss the oil supply if not that then it's coming from behind the belt cover :o if it's an oil seal that means the engine being stripped it's good bye to the fiesta, hello x-trail.

:D :D after washing it i put a container under the engine to catch some oil, just checked it and it had that smell of gearbox oil after pulling a cover off it turns out it's a little rubber boot where gear linkage joins to the gear box. explains why it has been so hard to get out of 2nd gear for the past few days.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but did you get this fixed or has it got worse? Yesterday I noticed a pool of oil on the engine block coming from a gap in the join between two rubber/plastic pipes. I've booked it in for a check, but I'm quite concerned!

Nowt serious, apparently ford will repair it under warranty but I've left it. will end up with more problems if ford touch it

Went to Ford today and they are going to replace the pipe tomorrow under warranty and it's supposedly a 30 minute job. Might be worth replacing before the whole thing falls off!
