window on my daughters car has gone 

down, but will not return up only clicking inside door Panel .now I have hit side very hard and managed to get 

back up . Do you think it needs new motor ! Just want more info before go out and buy panel removing kit ect lol 

 

 

 

 

 

Why not take the door card off and find out what the problem actually is? The best you could possibly hope to get from the forum on a question like this is pure guesses.

If you can hear clicking etc it sounds as if the motor is operating.

My guess is the glass has jumped out of position in the mechanism, possibly because of sticking in the window channels on the way down.

I had the same thing many years ago on a then brand new 309GTI and managed to wiggle it back into position until I could get it to the dealer for a fix under warranty. (I suspected that, like much of the rest of that car, it had not been properly assembled in the first place!)

The hard bang may well do the trick for a while, but the only way to be really sure is to have a look.
