I'm embarrassed at fellow countryman reporting joke to police!!

Comedian Joe Lycett investigated by PSNI after joke made in Belfast stand-up show reported by audience member

This is deeply disturbing that a member of the public think that it's worthy of police time to investigate a joke, at a comedy stand up show! Especially in this place where near the knuckle humour has brought us through the darkest of times. I'm guessing, that the 'offended' was a young snowflake who can't cope with daily life, and really shouldn't be allowed out without adult supervision. I have no time for such sensitivities. I'm old, and thoroughly bought up with, "sticks & stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me".  I truly dislike the way society seems to be morphing into 'look at me, I'm offended!' mindset...

It's a shame they didn't give us any idea of the jokes context...almost makes it look like a publicity stunt, which he is well known for making.

Must admit, I only ever seem to offend older people myself...  As far as I'm aware, I've never offended a young person.  Of course, some are overly sensitive, but I think that's always been the case.

When young people make major complaints nowadays, it's generally for good reason...such as Lizzo's recent lyric fail! 🤦‍♂️

Apparently it involved a donkey, and his appendage. It was a joke, you either laughed, or found it unfunny. No reason at all to call the flippin' police! The same snowflake would be the first to complain that the police didn't turn up at the theft of his bicycle - because they were all too busy investigating jokes!

You cant do or say anything these days, sadly the lefties and snowflakes rule the roost.

Young people tend to be offended by things that are racist, sexist, ablest, homophobic etc...

***** jokes are more likely to offend old people.  If the person does own up to it, will be interested to see who they are and why they found it offensive.
