Smax won't start, headlights stay on

Featured Replies

2010 smax, car won't start with key, but can be bridged, than it will start and run fine. Headlights stay on, no full beam, airbag light on and heater stopped working. Battery, fuses, immobilizer, starter motor, alternator all check and working. Anyone experience anything similar or ideas on what to do. Thanks

You have water/corrosion of the connectors and sockets of the BCM.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal before removing the plugs from the Body Control Module. It possibly has also got water inside and corrosion of the circuit board.

Hi,

I have the same problem - was it a faulty Body Control Module?

Hi Shane, Disconnect the battery and then disconnect and remove the BCM. If you see green fur on the terminals then you have water damage
