Delay of Delivery of Ford Fiesta ST Line

Featured Replies

I ordered my Ford Fiesta STLine in August 2021 - after lots of delays my current date for delivery is 11th July but I'm not holding out much hope. Apparently it's on the production line in Cologne. I never get up-dates and I'm the one who is always chasing. I have to say that I am not impressed with the customer service I have received from Gates of Stevenage. Just wandering how long  other Fiesta orders are taking.

Just to put this into perspective I ordered mine in May 2021 and it was built a few weeks ago and I should take delivery sometime in the next couple of weeks....its already in the UK....frustrating I know but there's not a lot the dealer can do about it and can honestly tell you.

My dealer indicated he's handing over a Fiesta this Friday that was ordered in Feb 2021, and he has another lady who ordered at the time time as mine (hers is a Fiesta ST-Line apparently) and hers hasn't even got a build date yet....so ordered Aug 21 and delivery July 22 isn't too bad considering the situation at the moment...it could be a lot worst....

The first sensible thing I have read about the delivery situation for a long time.

If we lived in the Ukraine then we would truly have something to complain and worry about.

I wasn't really thinking about Ukraine but that's a very good & valid point...showing ❤️ and support for the people in Ukraine, hoping the situation gets better for them soon 🤘

Yes I do agree, I was just trying to find out from others how long their delay was. My date isn't confirmed and I do expect there to be further delays especially after reading what you have written. I will ring the dealer today to find out the current situation i

If its already on the production line I doubt there will be further delays...it literally takes only a day or so to build the vehicle...and I'm sure they wouldn't part build it and then stop, that's not how car production plants works.

There's an interesting video showing fiesta's being made at the Cologne plant...hey you might see yours on there 🤣

I ordered a 3dr ST Line in December. Just had dealer on phone to say that 2022 spec has now ceased and they are working on 2023 spec which no longer includes a 3 door.  He's estimating August build, delivery September.  Says he'll need to see what he can do about the price

Just realised that 'July' is upon us and the introduction of automatic speed limiters are being rolled out. Has any one got one of these new woke safe cars yet ?

Doesn't that only apply to "newly launched" cars? I understand cars currently type approved and on sale have until July 2024 to comply.

You could very well be correct 👍

So which model will be the first to bring this long eagerly awaited technology to the public ?

Probably best to roll it out for professional drivers like the police to test first 🤣

Hi Al l have been doing a little research into the Fiesta ST Line for my wife so tried a few discount sites circa of around £3k discount l then phoned a few local dealerships asking about lead times as Ford quote 7 months dealers where honest with me quoting 10 months which is way too long

So I've managed to grab a brand new one.....Discount well l only got £1300 which is better than nothing given the circumstances...Berry Red metallic 155 ps  plus a few factory options the main one being the panoramic roof of which l was told that Ford no longer fit to the MY23  fiesta it gets delivered this week....we are located outside Glasgow Dealer is Yeovil

In my experience 9/10 months is not a bad wait if you can wait that is....I've been waiting on my own Car for 10 months build week was supposed to be week 47 of 2022 its now been pushed back to week 9 of 2023 so by l receive the car it will have been 20 months

Is the dealer in Glasgow? Trying to find a website

Well after a 14 month wait I finally picked up my new Fiesta yesterday, a nice looking Chrome Blue ST-Line Vignale 125Mhev with a rather jazzy 12 inch cockpit display which changes depending upon the driving mode selected....Sport mode looks cool, car definitely more responsive but with harsher regenerative braking.

First impressions are good although Ford have cost cut in certain areas - drum rear brakes instead of disks (although I knew that before purchasing, they have painted the drums black which looks somewhat better), no roof-line sun-glass cubby hole, no tray in the arm rest (dealership kindly supplied me with one when I queried this), doesn't seem to be a glove-box light, cupholders no longer illuminated but there is footwell illumination  Some of these may be due to facelift changes, not too sure.

Mirrors, as expected, don't fold so I'm having to double check myself to make sure I've locked the car.

Dealing with the dealership was ok, think they are suffering due to lack of information regarding build dates and having to pass on not-so-good news to the customers.  Build dates on most models are 8 to 18 months from order placement...my salesman still has some customers who ordered at the same time as mine and are still awaiting a build date...its just crazy.

Just glad to get mine finally...the only issue I've got is I discovered a scratch on the tailgate just above the number plate...we suspect the guy who fitted the plate did it and didn't fess up.  So its going in to have the tailgate resprayed...added cost to the dealership, its annoying but what can you do...more of an inconvenience really.  Thankfully they aren't just doing a quick smart repair.  Anyway my advice is to give the car a thorough check over before driving off in your shiny new Ford 😎.....

14 months is giving me the fear, I need rid of mine before December.  (ordered Dec 2021) I spoke to another dealer about a stock option, it was a better model but was £80 extra a month and I just can't afford that.

Ask your dealer for an update. I ordered a Titanium 125mHEV on December 14th 2021. Original delivery was June but by April it had slipped to early July. Dealer is now optimistic that the production rate is stable and with no further delays it will be built in September for delivery sometime in October so you may be OK with that.

The advantage of waiting is that you get the price on the original order. Current price for mine is £1000 more than my order price. Changing to a different car would need a new order at current price and current finance deals as you seem to have found!

Original delivery was predicted April, then July and now September.  Car has changed from a 3 door to a 5 door. I know the price is good and it's 0% finance.  I'm hoping for the best. It's just that my current Fiesta is 10 years old in December and although it has low mileage I believe the wet belt has to be changed at the 10th year service - I'd like to be shot of the car and not have that expense.
