Ford Fiesta Tutting noise

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’m new to the forum so hoping I’m posting this in the correct place.
I bought an 11 reg Fiesta back in March and have noticed recently it has started to make a “tutting” noise from the front passenger side.
Generally when I’m driving on flat roads it isn’t there, however I live down a steep hill and it seems to get very noticably loud after braking on my way down the hill and for the final 200ish yards to my house.

It seems to also happen when I’m driving long distances but I’m not 100% sure what causes it to start during this. I have a regular route every weekend with a lot of hills/roundabouts so I’m thinking it could possibly be due to braking when approaching these but I can’t be certain.

Has anyone else experienced this before or could possibly suggest what could be wrong?

Cheers!

James

When were the front discs and pads last replaced ?

Ooh I’m not too sure without checking the paperwork which is at home, but definitely before I bought it in March.

Front discs and pads are very cheap for a Fiesta, it is possibly worth getting them replaced before you start looking for more complex issues for the noise.

From the title, I'm afraid I assumed it was your missus commenting on your driving ability, especially when you say it's coming from the front passenger side!
