Bodywork protection kits - ever used?

Featured Replies

In one of my first posts in the Club, I told how the Ford dealer had had a "mix-up" (their word) about including on the sales invoice  £399 for "complimentary" bodywork protection. (After some fuss, including my negative comment on the dealer's feedback site, I did get a refund.)

I wonder how many of the kits that are supplied to customers are fully used - perhaps they are by enthusiasts, but then most would not be fooled into paying such a commission-loaded price. In ten months I've got around to using the wash solutions once - and shall try to remember to do so when next I wash the car (though I'm hoping for a downpour to do that for me). I didn't have much luck applying the rainscreen (but that's me being inept - I can't even clean a house window without leaving smears), and one day the large can of upholstery cleaner might come in handy for the house carpets.

I did appropriate the alcoholic hand-cleaner, as it's the sort of thing I use anyway (and long before Covid made it desirable).

With many drivers relying on commercial car washes, I suspect that some kits are left untouched.
