Been having issues with the driver's side electric window in my 2017 Fiesta, in that it's been struggling to move and has been bringing streaks of sticky brown adhesive up from inside the door. I thought it was tree sap at first, but after putting the window down full in the current heatwave, a rubber/vinyl sheet is now protruding from the door seal. 

 

I've attached a picture so you can see what I mean - any idea what this is and how it can be fixed? I don't dare put the window down again in case it gets stuck. 

Well, I haven't seen that before!!  

That's the waterproof membrane from inside the door panel.  Stops rain water from the window damaging the electrical components.

The only fix will be to remove the plastic door panel, then the metal door panel that includes the window runner and remove the membrane to refit.

In it's current position, if the window motor struggles to pull it down, you may have to cut off the visible part.
