Sony sound system problems - no sound

Featured Replies

Hi, a few weeks ago my sound system started playing up for no apparent reason.  It could be radio, cd, bluetooth playing and all of a sudden there would be a loud static sound and it would go silent.  Now it just say, 'no audio'.  I've tried disconnecting the battery to reset it but it didn't work.  I figure it may be the amplifier.  I looked in the fuse box in the boot, but the amplifier fuse isn't in the location that it should be.  It looks possibly like a previous owner has had an aftermarket sound system installed because there are various wires spliced together leading to the same fuse.  I also did the speaker test where you press numbers 3 and 6 on the head unit, but no sound comes out.  Has anyone experienced this, and is the amp behind the glove box as in the c-max?

thanks

Darren
