Is it essential to use Forscan to bleed brakes on a 2018 ST Line? I recently watched a video were the ABS pump was purged via Forscan. Seems simple enough.

    Yes.

    Cars that have electronically controlled ABS systems need the system in a maintenance mode in order to clear potential air pockets from the unit. If there has only been a minor loss of fluid for example while replacing a brake caliper then in most cases it won't be necessary provided the flexi pipe was nipped closed while the work was done. Of course the brakes will still need bleeding as normal.
