Tyre pressure sensor showing 0

Featured Replies

Hi all

I had a puncture on my 2020 Fiesta ST Line X and tried to use the tyre inflation kit to fix. Didn't work so had to have a new tyre fitted.

Car sat for a week until I could get a mobile fitter out to replace tyre. He fitted the tyre but the tpms still displaying the pressure as 0. I stored the pressures as thinking this might reset the sensor but it didn't. It just cleared the warning. No other faults showing.

Is there anything else I can do or I'd it a trip to ford's or should I gey the fitter out again?

Matt

Did you replace the TPMS sensor after you used the inflation kit ?

If not then I expect it has got the sealant inside of it now and it is unable to detect pressure.

No there was no suggestion in the owners manual to replace the sensor after using the inflation kit. Would turn out to be quite expensive if you had to do that every time you used the sealant.

I wouldn't have the sealant kit in my car for any price.   For 2 reasons.   First they are ***** useless and second, it's pure latex and my wife suffers from the type 1 latex allergy.   Some years ago Fords were boasting that all Ford cars were latex free and  now they supply this.

If I had known that it didn't come with a spare, I would have ordered it. All my Focus's have always had a spare so didn't think anything different. Will not fall for that again and my new order I have specced a spare with it.
