Hi all, I have a 2004 mk6 fiesta and the driver window has been stuck when being operated. When I try to make the window goes down it is not smooth and makes a weird squeak noise at about 10% opened, if I press and hold the window down button the window will go down all the way no problem but I will not be able to make it go back up by pressing the up button if the window is opened more than 30%. 

Has anyone faced this issue before? Is it an expensive fix? Thank you very much for your time!

Spray some lubricant ( preferably silicone spray)  down the channels the window slides on. 

might need a new window regulator 

The grease on the sliders is 18 years old...

It may be worth dismantling it sooner rather than later, if the mechanism breaks, then it is either a very expensive new mechanism from ford, or scrabble around for s/h bits

mine had the same sounding problem until one day it went down and never came back up, when i opened everything up to see what was going on it turned out the cables were all frayed causing the initial problem until the day it didnt come back up at all. that was the day they finally snapped.

got a now (used) window regulator and went through the fight of changing it, now all is well again. one thing i would say though if your doing it keep an eye on where your running things like the door opening link wire from the inside handle as if its not in the exact right place the window will catch it.
