Stuck in France with blocked DPF

Featured Replies

Hello,

I could use some fairly urgent advice please.

I am in the centre of France and my DPF is blocked and the car is in limp mode (less that 4000 revs but still easily driveable). We've been down to the Alps and back so did about 10 hours motorway driving in the last couple of days before getting the message so i suspect it's something more than driving style. Forscan says it could not to the static regen as it's too blocked.

The local garage can't replace it for a few weeks and we are due to drive back in 3 days.

So, the question is, is it safe to drive approx 500 miles with a blocked DPF?

I know there are performance implications but can it cause any further damage?

Many thanks,

Steve

Are you a member of any motoring orgaisations ???????? AA, RAC, Green Flag etc. Or see if you can limp it back to the UK, then call them. Blocked DPF can cause many issues including turbo etc. Can they not dig it out and clean it or like many do strip the guts from it.
