Bee Sting / Stubby Aerial

Featured Replies

I have jsut returned from a 9 day holiday, during which my poor little fiesta had sat in the sun all day every day, to find my aerial which i have had for years and years on different cars, has seriously miscoloured

Its almost as if the sun has bleahed the black powder coating

Anyway, i had wanted to get a different one for a while as the bottom was not flush/neat with the base on the car and so i was hoping someone can recommend me a good aerial, where i also still get good recedption

I noticed Nico has a Richmond.. what are views on this? Are there any better

THanks RBJ

i got the anti-theft one yeh... my mate got it for me birthday cos i was sick of having winter hill on top of my car :P it sits alright on the car looks better i can say that much.... i rarely use the radio tbh only when rugby is on and it gets signal good enough to use it :)

I have a copy of the Richbrook Sabre aerial, but mine is minus the locking grub-screw which is to the rear of the ~ triangular base end. It goes up to a point in a curve, and mine has Samorai type japanere writing on the 2 outer faces. It is coated brass, and is copper cored, and is 18cm long, claiming to not affect reception, and that is my experience, even without a grub-screw onto the original thread stub. Halfords only stock a black one, but I have found a Google search found this range of aerials, in with others, available in 13cm and 18cm lengths, in black, satin aluminium, or chrome, complete with an allen key for the grub-screw. £18 for mine, from my local car accessories shop. (got it in aluminium satin finish, with black jap. writing.)

Main reason for getting it is that my car is in a common colour/model, and I don't want a silly ball on top like so many others with my problem, finding the car in a big car park!!

The version I have was made in Europe for Carpoint,-- www.carpointeurope.com (japanese aluminium 20.200.04), the Richbrook versions state Brass, with copper core.
