2016 Smax squeaking noise from rear

Featured Replies

I have a 2016 smax from new, full ford service history. In last 3 months there has been a squeaking noise from rear when driving slow, ie slow traffic, in car park and when exiting front and especially exiting rear passengers.

I have taken it to my local ford garage, they have checked the suspension, checked seals but cannot see what is causing the noise. If you rock the car side to side there is no noise, but place foot on back bumper and rock back and forth the squeaking noise is there. It is quite a loud squeaking. Has anyone come across this before. Many thanks

Hello Eileen,

I realise this is a year old thread now but just curious if you ever got anywhere with it? Got the same thing in my 2015 SMax and although it has helped having the rear shocks replaced (one was beyond useless and the other was looking to join it) there is still a noise there at times.

Hello Eileen,

Eileen is a 'One post Wonder' she made the post 23rd August 2022 and has never returned since, so i doubt you are going to get a response.

Interestingly Ben, I see you joined the forum way back in 23rd March 2009 and this is only your second post 😀
