Tailgate/boot won't open and internal release catch not moving

Featured Replies

Hi. Any thoughts? It's always needed weight on the boot to unlock but out of nowhere it's doing nothing at all. No click on the button and no evident attempt to open. I've replaced the f25 central fuse but no change. I have access to the release catch thing (an L shape bit of metal to the right of the loc ok from inside) from in the boot and that isn't moving at all? Anything I'm missing?

Has probably always been out of adjustment, thus imposing additional strain (stress???) on the solenoid mechanism which has finally failed. If you put weight on the boot can you open it from nside?

Sadly no it's not budging regardless of whether I lean on it or not
