A good engine to get (and cheap) would be the 1.25 I4 I have in my Fiesta MK4. It's cheap to run, quite revy, and the most reliable engine of the lot! Why else is the exact same engine been in production from the MK4 (my version) to the current MK8 ? Great engine! :)
