A/C high side valve

Featured Replies

I have found I have a leaking Schrader valve on the high side of my 2009 1.6tdci fiesta.

Are these m8x1 valves the correct style for my car

I used UV dye to find the leak

I couldn't say if they are the correct ones or not. What I will say is do not unscrew your existing valve, the system may well still be under full pressure (200psi or more). You need the refrigerant removed from the system by a special A/C machine before the valve can be changed and the system recharged.

Almost all places that service A/C will always replace the Schrader valves before for refilling the system.

The system has been empty for a few weeks. I have a hose made up to put compressed air into the low side to get it to switch on and disperse the dye. I also have a vacuum pump/manifold/ refrigerant capture tank.

I will whip the valve out this evening and make sure this is the correct valve.

But thanks for your concern 🙂
