Constant blog stopping me from listening to radio

Featured Replies

Got a bit of a strange Issue I can't seem to resolve with the Sync3/Andoid Auto/ Google maps system.

I was using Google maps (with an Android phone connected via USB) for my sat nav, whilst listening to my usual Radio station via the cars DAB radio.

I used the button on the wheel to use the voice recognotion to try and play some music via my spotify account as the radio station was playing a real  dirge of a music selection.

Unfortunately it decided to play some American blog of a female operatic singer constanly singing Help at various pitches.

I can use the voice recognition to stop the blog but everytime I try to use Google maps for my sat nav it automatically starts the blog again.

This overides my dab Radio station. The only way I can get the radio station I want is to disconnect the phone.

I have no idea where it's getting this blog from or how to delete it. Anyone got any bright ideas?

Clear the cache and storage of the Spotify app on your phone and reboot.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The problem is it doesn't seem to be coming from Spotify, I think it's from google. I get the impression the voice recognition didn't understand me correctly. I've look at the settings on my phone and in my google account but I can't see anything related to this damned blog that insists on playing in a continuous loop.

Anyone any other ideas?

Look at your google assistant settings after logging out of your account and logging back in.

Thanks, I'll take a look there tomorrow.

For now I have found a workaround by going into the Android Auto app on my phone and disabling the Start music automatically option.

Still not sure where it's getting this blog from though, can't see any mention of it anywhere.

Try saying "Hey Google, let's drive" into your phone and you'll get the Android Auto screen on your phone.

Just tried that, it starts the Google maps app which then starts the blog playing unless I turn off the start automatically option. 😠

Try clearing the User Data and Cache from Android Auto and Maps, that often works wonders.

Ok thanks guys, I'll give it a go on my next journey.
