Fiesta 1.0 125hp rocker cover change?

Featured Replies

Hello, I need to change the rocker cover on my car as it’s started to weep oil out of it. Has anyone done this DIY and how was it? I got quoted 450-500 from Ford and that’s outrageous for what it is.

cheers

Do you mean swap it for a new one instead of just changing the gasket? I must say from the pictures I've found of the cover it does look non-trivial to do it.

@agraham I was under the impression the OEM rocker cover used a sealant instead of a traditional gasket, I'm assuming I'll need to replace the whole thing. Although I have noticed when shopping around that some after market ones are advertised as coming with a seal and cheaper ones not. I wonder if you still need to use ford's special sealant with one of these aftermarket ones. 🤔
