Weird error : Engine malfunction service now

Featured Replies

Hey guys, so recently I started getting this error, it says : Engine malfunction service now, the light turns on in the cluster and after a couple of seconds the warning light turns off and the error dissapears. The error appears only When I start the car and turn on my headlight, but if I turn the light knob to turn only my parking lights it doesn't trigger the error, only When I turn on my dipped beams. Also what I have discovered is that if I turn off and on my dipped beams after the error turns off(without shutting the car off) the error doesn't appear again. Has anyone had a similar problem or something. I haven't noticed any engine related problems, the car runs just fine. I have leds in my headlights, is that the problem, but i've had them for like 2 years now and the error started triggering since a couple of months ago.

I drive a '09 fiesta 1.6 tdci 66kw.
