1.0 EcoBoost Noise

Featured Replies

I will try my best to explain the noise I have been experiencing, but if it is unfathomable I shall endeavour to get a recording!

When I have been driving for a while and the car has warmed up I can hear a loud sort of whirring/whistling noise that sounds a bit like something spinning - from the front end of the car, and it seems to be both sides. It gets faster with the car's speed, is there when both accelerating or coasting, but not when braking.

I'm thinking it must be something to do with the wheels, or brakes? Does anyone have any ideas? Ideally I would like to fix the issue myself, but if I do need to take it in...I'd prefer to have a good idea of what's wrong😉

Any advice greatly appreciated!

It could be as simple as tyres!  They become more supple as they warm up so tyre noise can change during a drive.

If you've got different tyres front and rear, perhaps swap them over and see if the noise goes or moves backwards.
