Mk 7 Reversing Sensors - Are They Adjustable?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a MK 7 1.4 Zetec, I got the City Pack thrown in as part of the deal as I wanted parking sensors.

The thing is compared to my other car they emit the continous beep far too soon, when I'm 12 - 14 inches away from an object. I would much prefer they did this when 4 - 6 inches away, are they adjustable from a sub menu or even by the garage as I have to keep getting out to check how far I am from the wall when I park.

I'm sure that they aren't adjustable, unfortunately! I paid extra for these on my Titanium & have found them to be little better than useless because the two outer sensors detect obstacles which are parallel to (rather than behind) the car hence the system often beeps constantly when e.g. reversing into my garage. The outer ones are supposed to "cut out" after a few seconds if the distance between those & any object remains constant but this doesn't seem to happen.

My Dad has a Focus with just two rear (after-market) sensors rather than the Fiesta's (factory fitted) four sensors & the system on the Focus works much better.

Yeah, the corner ones are useless when you're close up to something, even some tal weeds, or the gate post will do it!
