Battery replacement on 2019 fiesta 1.0 ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hi all

My fiesta is 4 years old next March. It looks like I am going to have to change the battery. Struggling to hold 12.2 volts or there abouts.

These bigger batteries fitted to cars with stop/start are expensive enough and wanted to avoid main dealer.

Fitting isn’t a problem but what do I need to do to reset battery monitor?

on my Mini the dealer had to plug into the scart socket and reset. The bill for battery and reset was extortionate.

i have a plug in analyser that can reset the monitor. Is it the same for the fiesta or is this a dealer reset. Guess they will want to supply the battery as well.

Any thoughts please

Ty

Hope you're not thinking of changing the battery just because (as discussed on another thread) stop/start doesn't operate sometimes? Have you actually had a starting problem?

Mine is now at 4.5 years, and has never failed to start first touch, even in sub-zero temperatures and when getting the "system off to save battery" message on entering the car.

.....as if 🤣

If the battery does need replacing that’s early failure.  The battery in my stop Start fiesta is 6 years 11months old and seems fine.  On my previous fiesta (not stop start) the battery was just over 10 years old when replaced

Come to think about it, I've only replaced 2 batteries in over 50 years of driving. In both cases 9 or 10 years old, and only because they were failing to hold sufficient charge to start the car reliably.

My Mrs's car (not a Ford, admittedly😀) is over 8 years old now and the battery is still fine.

In my wife’s mazda2 the original battery failed at 7 yrs old, I was disappointed with that.
