Engine replacement

Featured Replies

Hi,

looking for some much needed help.

I have a fiesta 1.0 ecotec s with engine code M1JE.

the engine is now a non start after suffering the low oil pressure & low compression on all cylinders.

im looking for a used engine but unsure which engine codes would be compatible or what the difference is.

thanks in advance.

Cant really help much im afraid, all i would say is if you are going to go through the expense of fitting a second hand engine it would be no brainer but to put a new belt on due to unknown history and your current issue.

But then if your going to do that i would be looking at a recon or even new engine from ford. We have found a new engine from ford is the same price as after market engines but ford want you to relpace alot of extra stuff to validate the warranty whereas the others just want an oil and filter change at 500 miles.

And then if your going to go through the effort of putting a new engine in you may aswell buy a new car😂.

Sorry couldn't help it.

Hello Scott, you're in a difficult position. No matter which way you jump you're unlikely to get out of this without spending £3000. The question you have to ask yourself is: Is it worth spending £3K on repairing it ?

If the car is in otherwise perfect condition, and body and chassis is excellent and not going to need any money spending on them, then you might consider replacing the engine and keep the car for 3 or 4 years. Otherwise you will be throwing away money trying to fix up an ageing car.

Take a look at the PumaSpeed site for replacement engines:

Go on Facebook and look up 'EcoPro' ...seriously.... Hes got 5 star rating rating solely Works on Ecoboost engines !! He has feedback from all previous customers and knows his ***** . He also provides/fits engines ... 👍

I'm sure that the guy you are so strongly recommending most likely does a good job. However he's not going to be of a lot of use to the OP who is 300 miles away with a dead car.

He covers the whole of the UK and even provides full cover of the UK. Hes based in Lincoln and as per his reviews has recovered vehicles from London to Scotland. He will provide a recovery service as per  👍
