Hi all I brought my first car and was wondering about future mods i would like to do, especially to the exhaust. That was until I realised the exhaust is hidden by the rear bumper (pretty much like the picture). I’m asking for help if I need to get a bumper that allows the exhaust to show.

I can tell you the car in the photo has false number plates !!

Seriously why bother? You are spending hard earned money for little effect. Most people who see it won't care. Take your girl friend out for a good mael instead.

The ST bumper has an exhaust cut-out.  But looks a bit daft on a comfort spec car.  The Zetec S bumper has no cut out as standard, but does have a separate lower valance which can be cut cleanly to allow the exhaust to show.

I know I sound like a boring old git, any mods you do are a pointless waste of money and devalue the car, so that’s a double waste of money.

Wouldn’t look bad on mine. I’ve got the three seater and it’s already had some things done to it (from previous owner). So your saying I could put the ST bumper on this ? or that I could make a cutout on the bumper ?

Both.

The ST bumper already comes with a cutout.  But generally costs more and there are fewer for sale. 

The ZS bumper is cheaper and easier to source.  But you would have to cut the valance on that.
