Swapping 3 button selector panel near handbrake in mk8

Featured Replies

Hello

this weekend I’ve fitted a new centre console to my fiesta mk8, I didn’t have an armrest with my original spec and felt it all looked a bit messy having usb cable trailing all over the place so invested in a used centre console.

the new one came from a 70 plate mk8 fiesta, it had a different 3 button panel near the handbrake to my original.. mine has eco/tcs/auto stop start the one that came with the new console has mode select/tcs/auto stop start… my question is if I plug in the “new” panel will I be able to get sports mode on my fiesta - anyone done it?

hope that makes sense?
thanks

It would be a nice idea, but ........no

It is as you say just a different set of buttons, changing it will not give extra driving modes.

I did expect that would be the answer, I’ve been Googling it…. Apparently, late 2019 bog standard models of the fiesta allowed for a sports setting but unfortunately I doesn’t seem it’s available for older models… I had read somewhere that holding down the “traction control” button put it into sports mode but I haven’t tried that yet.

thanks for your reply..

I've never tried, and I don't know if it is even possible, but if you use FORScan and have a look at the ECU, PCM, etc. there may be options to turn on the Sports mode. You really need someone that has looked at this to give you advice.
