Fiesta Mk7 Headlight Bulbs

Featured Replies

Hi, I have just had a headlight bulb blow on my Mk7 Fiesta 1.6 TDci. This time it was I Philips extream bulb. I have now had 3 bulbs blow in 15 months. Has anyone else had the same problem?

This is getting beyond a joke replacing these .

Touch wood, my Fiesta hasn't had any probs with bulbs blowing.

The only time I did have trouble was on a Volvo where I fitted Halfords branded higher output bulbs. They were lasting 3 months. Volvo dealer said if you don't use Volvo ones anything more than 1 weeks life is a bonus.

Seems to be some debate still going on as to whether or not higher output bulbs last or not.

Do you drive with headlights on all the time ?

Stewart.

These very highly uprated bulbs (80-90%) by Philips and Osram, are known to suffer a loss of 40% in life-time. Just go down a level to the GEC Megalite, +50% bulbs as offered by Halfords, branded as Halfords Super Brilliance, in a gold colour carton, but check the actual bulb inside, as they multi-source, and you will find Alite bulbs in the same carton.

My Yaris was still running these after 5 years, and I've used them before. On a BOGOF deal, £16 per pair of H4's.
