On going to my usual HB a few days ago, it was like lockdown. The chiller cabinets were very low in stock, and the freezer units almost empty. I just assumed they had a delivery screw up. However, I happened to be in another branch today, and it was even worse, the chiller unit was virtually empty, and the freezer units just had vast space with no food.

On asking a member of staff, the reason surprised me. They get all their chilled food delivered in self contained freezer  roller cages. They are charged up with CO2, and set to temperature for transportation. Their warehouse has run out of CO2, and are unable to currently transport such items to their branches. They have plenty of food, just no way of getting it to the shops!

Darn that Russian nutter! :laugh:
