Possible fuel issue

Featured Replies

Hello, just a question, My car wants to crank over but simply won’t turn over I’ve put forscan on it and done a live data test. The top photo is after trying to crank the car and the bottom is with just key in ignition I’ve notice the fuel pump is on 0% on both tests would that be the problem? Also I’ve heard it could be the inertia switch but that’s all electronic for the 2016 ecoboost so would that be located in the restraints control module ?Any information is appreciated thank you D3FAA00B-D159-41B1-802A-2DD53C952AA5.thumb.jpeg.b6e59ecdfe62d9076e14903e2741d0d1.jpeg020A75E3-474B-4561-B98F-66259C38B8CC.thumb.jpeg.80c4bffbeaa67cef775f8c699d5058c7.jpeg

It’s a new battery been put inside, I can’t find my multimeter so I will get back to you on the battery voltage if I remember correctly was 11.80v when I last checked but will check again, the DTC’s stored are on the photo below image.thumb.jpg.3fd146a48046dbeeb0bcf70fdb389ef4.jpg

So what happened to the car ?

Has this been in an accident or had some bodywork repairs done ?

It was crash repaired 3 months ago, airbags popped etc.  I'm sure you've posted on their previous threads.

Thank you Tom 👍

That explains everything now. Reading through the DTC's everything was pointing to the fact the RCM needs to be factory reset. Not something that can be done by FORScan, as I understand there is at least one physical component that has to be replaced.

so first things first send the RCM off to get repaired/reset. I had previously sent it off to get reset but guess they didn’t do anything as the DTC are still showing

There are specialist companies in the UK who can repair and reset them. If it is not the original RCM from your car then you will have even more problems as any replacement unit will need to be reprogrammed to your car by a Ford dealer, and that is if you can find one that is willing to do that.

I had got another RCM but I put the original one back in as I heard it’s more of an issue to put a secondhand one in better off repairing the original so that’s what I will be doing. Thank you for your help
