Ford fiesta 2014 1.0 ecoboost

Featured Replies

I’ve got a Ford fiesta 2014 1.0 ecoboost and it’s started to make this noise when stationary and when the engine is running. Any idea on what it could be?
I’ve attached a video (turn volume on high) https://youtube.com/shorts/_OPzqHebKXw?feature=share

Can't hear the sound well even at full volume unfortunately.  Could be a misfire but it really needs to go to a trusted mechanic for a listen in person.

It could be a sparkplug. It could be a timing issue. It could be all the oil is drained. It could be the alternator's dying. It could be a warped piston head. It could be a hole in the exhaust.  I'm no mechanic, I just know engine noise can be a lot of things since engines are complicated.  If the check engine light is on I wouldn't drive it. Otherwise, I'd probably drive it to a mechanic and no further. That drive could very well kill the engine though. 🤷‍♂️

I hope it is a cheap fix whatever it is!

Did you establish what the problem (if any) was?
